Abstract

This invention relates to enhancements to the 4-step random access procedure for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) devices in wireless communication systems. The proposed approach introduces a dedicated Random Access Channel (RACH) preamble and a new Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) format for the Random Access Response (RAR), enabling efficient identification and handling of FWA devices during the random access procedure. The proposed mechanisms aim to improve random access efficiency and facilitate differentiated treatment of FWA devices in advanced wireless networks.
